About Just Hold
It started on a whiteboard

Last year, Just Hold was an idea and a whiteboard in our kitchen.
I wanted a way to work out with my family — something simple we could all do together without a gym and without lots of kit.
Plank, Dead Hang and Wall Sit fit perfectly. They're simple to understand, easy to measure and quick to do. So we drew a grid on the whiteboard, started a timer, and wrote down our times.
Then we tried to beat them.
Then we tried to beat each other.
It turned out that “how long can you hold?” is a brilliant question: easy to ask, hard to answer, and a surprisingly good reason to show up together.
What it is today
Today, Just Hold is a real web app. The same simple idea — just fewer whiteboard markers!
No complicated programme. No equipment-heavy setup. No 12-week plan you'll abandon by week two. Just three simple holds, your times on the screen, and friendly competition to keep you honest.
With Just Hold you can:
- track your times for Plank, Dead Hang and Wall Sit
- watch your progress build hold by hold
- find targets to chase when you need motivation
- create groups with family or friends
- challenge each other and see who can keep improving
Why holds?
Because they're brutally simple and surprisingly hard.
There's nowhere to hide in a wall sit. You can't fake a dead hang. And you don't need much to get started: just a bit of floor, a wall, or a secure bar.
That means fewer excuses, fewer barriers, and more people able to join in.
You can start in ten seconds and still be improving months later.
The idea hasn't changed
Just Hold is still what it was on that kitchen whiteboard: a way to get a little stronger, together, without it feeling like work.
Simple holds. Visible progress. And the small, satisfying pleasure of beating your last time.
